Passion will make you crazy, but is there any other way to live? As artists, it’s that beautiful madness that continually drives us to do what we do.
My close friend is a brilliant artist and creative. It’s never been an act that’s turned on (or off) at will. For as long as I’ve been fortunate enough to know him, I’ve known it to be engrained in his heart, soul and everything he does.
Tonight I’ve been reminded of just how many lives he’s touched thanks to a film with a nearly non-existent budget. By typical ‘Hollywood’ standards, For Lovers Only had a slim chance of success. And yet for me, and undeniably many viewers, it’s his passion, heart of gold, and uncompromising determination to showcase life in all of its beauty, tragedy, pain and bleeding emotion that makes him an exquisite artist.
As a writer, I can only hope that one day my words will touch the hearts of so many. Most importantly as a friend, I am blown away, unbelievably proud and utterly inspired by the person, artist, and creative who’s spread massive amounts of love and happiness to people all over the world.
